Another Austin Bar Consultant

How's it going? Thinking about opening a bar and want to chat with a bar owner? Hit me up. I own a few bars in Austin, TX and have been doing this since 2011.

  • I'm not a "hospitality group" or a "mixologist".

  • My bars aren't breaking records but we've been open many years.

  • I'm not an expert, I've just made some mistakes and had some successes.

"So How Does this Work? / How Much Do You Charge?"

I'm happy to answer questions just to help because it would have been cool to have someone to give me feedback when I was starting out. If you want to buy me a coffee and chat for an hour, I'm cool with that too.

If you're a person that came in to some money and think it would be cool to open a bar I'll probably try to talk you out of it. I also won't waste your time with "Yeah! You should totally open a gin only cigar bar speakeasy in Southpark Meadows!" and charge you money for my time.

If you've got a good concept, a solid team and I think you might be able to pull it off then we can talk money, hours needed, etc. Like I said, I'm not an expert but I know how to open bars in Austin. I'm knowledgable in zoning requirements, TABC regulations, permitting, lease negotiation (I'm not a realtor), and I have a phone full of contacts that I've used over the years.

"Why Are You Doing This?"

Money.

Just kidding, well kind of. Part of me thinks I have all of this experience about opening bars in Austin, maybe I should get paid to share it. At the same time I only want to help open bars that I think have a shot at being successful so I don't look like one of those guys taking advantage of people with dreams. Then there's the pride part of it. It would be really cool to help someone and watch them become successful on their own.

Hit me up with that little chat button in the corner.
